Interviews and surveys surfaced a simple truth: people want community without algorithmic noise. Trust was the bottleneck, not features.
Neighborhood community app
A mobile-first social product designed to bridge the gap between neighbors — trusted local news, invitations, and community bulletins without the noise of national feeds.

Context
StayNTouch was a passion project during the Google UX Design Certificate — built with peers who saw the same gap: neighbors lacked a trustworthy, local-first channel for events, news, and community bulletins.
National social feeds optimized for reach, not belonging. We designed for invite-based trust, hyperlocal updates, and a conceptual model that made “who’s on my block” feel safe.
Interviews and surveys surfaced a simple truth: people want community without algorithmic noise. Trust was the bottleneck, not features.
Neighborhood as the primary unit — not a global feed. Invitations, local news, and event RSVPs nested under place.
Core paths — discover event, invite neighbor, post bulletin — kept under three taps for one-handed evening use.
